The Oil Mounting Station is an innovative, patent pending accessory for EVERSMART and IQSMART scanners. The first professional offline oil mounting system designed for flatbed scanners, it enhances image quality and productivity. You do not have to oil-mount images with EVERSMART and IQSMART scanners to produce excellent results. However, when scanning images that will be enlarged by more than 800%, or if your original is scratched, oil mounting is the recommended procedure for preserving high image quality.

Oil mounting is common in the graphic arts and photographic industries. If scratched film is bathed in a layer of scanning oil or gel, the scratches in the film disappear when the image is scanned. This significantly reduces post-scan retouching, thereby saving time and operation costs. In addition, oil mounting enhances overall image quality by reducing image grain.

Your Oil Mounting Station comes with an A3+ (305 x 432 mm /12 x 17 in.) scanning glass mount (in addition to the scanning glass provided with your EVERSMART/IQSMART scanner). It also includes oil mounting masks, clear foils, and an oil roller. EVERSMART and IQSMART scanning glass mounts are easy to remove and reposition.
