ROCHESTER, N.Y., Sept. 23— Donald Allred, Director, Business Development, Inkjet Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, will discuss new Kodak inkjet applications and technical solutions that will provide the newspaper printing industry with the broadest array of opportunities for increasing circulation and productivity while saving time and cutting costs at the 2008 International Newspaper Group (ING) Conference in Tampa, Fla.

Allred’s presentation “Kodak’s Inkjet Solutions for Newspapers” is part of the ING digital press technology panel at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. Allred will discuss Kodak’s product roadmap for inline part page digital printing and distributed newspaper printing applications. The roadmap includes the announcement of the KODAK VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System for newspaper applications, which provides improved image quality. The roadmap ultimately leads to the Stream Concept Press from Kodak, which will provide significant improvements in image quality, production capacity and cost per newspaper. The Stream Concept Press from Kodak was previewed earlier this year at drupa 2008 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

“Kodak provides the broadest range of print solutions to the newspaper industry. These solutions enable inline and on press applications to be printed at press speeds, with no reduction in newspaper throughput, as well as producing short run newspapers digitally in a cost effective manner,” said Allred. Integrating these inkjet solutions as part of the newspaper publisher’s business provides opportunities to engage the customer with games and targeted variable advertisements, as well as adopt microzoned community publications to enhance the relevance of the publication to the customer.”

Kodak is also a sponsor of the Cox Target Media Partners’ Reception and Dinner at the Tampa Aquarium on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The ING Annual Conference is aimed at providing information on new equipment and technology, glimpses of the future, ideas on use for older products and equipment, along with the latest management methods and practices. The ING was established in 1975, and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the manufacturing or production operations area of the newspaper printing industry.
