Japanese Hokuto Kogyo Expands Capabilities with Purchase of KODAK NEXPRESS 3000 Digital Production Color Press at drupa 2008

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 25— Hokuto Kogyo KK, one of the largest on demand printers in Japan, purchased a five-color KODAK NEXPRESS S3000 Digital Production Color Press at drupa 2008.

With over 200 employees, the Osaka –based commercial printer specializes in short run applications targeting the financial and manufacturing markets, and made the investment to strengthen its capability in full color variable data printing applications.

“We have been using KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Digital Production Color Presses for some years and have been extremely pleased with the results we achieve with them,” comments Mr Hideki Tojyo, CEO of Hokuto Kogyo. “By investing in the new S3000 Press we will be able to add more speed to the jobs that we are completing as well as the five color capability. This will help us grow our business and provide additional added value services to our customers.”

The KODAK NEXPRESS S3000 Press is a high end production press in the NEXPRESS Press platform producing 3,000 A3 sheets per hour, or 100 A4 pages per minute for the full range of supported substrate types (coated, uncoated, synthetics, standard offset paper, textured stocks and selected packaging board, labels and firms) and weights (60-350 gsm).  The S3000 Press combines speed, the unique operator replaceable component service model and an extensive online operator support system to provide outstanding cut sheet productivity to print providers.
