DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY, June 11—Media Trust Limited in Abuja, northern Nigeria, placed an order for a complete prepress solution consisting of a KODAK TRENDSETTER 400 III QUANTUM Platesetter, the recently introduced KODAK ELECTRA XD Thermal Plate, KODAK PRINERGY EVO News Software and KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing System at drupa 2008.
Following shortly after the first ever sale into West Africa of a KODAK computer to plate (CTP) system, this second order was also administered through FC Exports, sales agent for Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group in West Africa.
Media Trust Ltd. has over 300 employees and publishes the national newspaper, The Daily Trust, in northern Nigeria. The company also operates a commercial printing business.
“We chose the KODAK CTP system because we are very impressed with its speed, consistency and repeatability. In combination with the ELECTRA XD Plate it provides a very high quality output,” comments Mr Isiaq Ajibola, Managing Director of Media Trust Ltd. “We are looking forward to expanding our business and offering a much higher quality product to our readers. The new system will also allow us to work with PDFs and therefore eliminate errors. ”
The TRENDSETTER 400 III Platesetter offers a throughput of 40 plates per hour and provides reliable, cost effective functionality with the flexibility to meet production and business needs both now and in the future.
Launched at drupa 2008, the ELECTRA XD Thermal Plate is a non ablative, no preheat, positive working digital plate. The ELECTRA XD Thermal Plate exhibits impressive prepress and on press stability for excellent resolution, run length, and color control throughout the full press run. With typically triple the unbaked run length of the KODAK ELECTRA HR Plates, the highly durable ELECTRA XD Plate also helps printers reduce overall plate consumption and energy usage while maintaining consistency, stability, and print quality.
KODAK PRINERGY EVO Software is an entry level PDF workflow system for controlling prepress, plate and film production and digital print output. Based on proven PRINERGY PDF Software and JDF, PRINERGY EVO Software is a powerful system featuring advanced normalizing, color management, trapping and screening options. PRINERGY EVO Software delivers the features and functionality needed to increase efficiency and help reduce the cost of production. It features flexible, customizable configurations to support commercial, publishing, newspaper, and packaging solutions.
The MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing System supports EPSON Printers and includes KODAK Proofing Software and KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Media to meet industry specifications including GRACoL, FOGRA and SWOP.
