Kodak Exceeds Milestone for Desktop Scanner Channel Growth

More than 1,000 resellers of Kodak’s desktop scanners signed on during six month period

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 17—Kodak’s new channel program for Desktop Scanner Resellers (KDSRs) met and exceeded its growth goal in less than six months.  The channel has grown from approximately 200 KDSRs in April of this year to more than 1,200 today. 

“We set a goal for ourselves to sign on 1,000 new distributed scanner resellers by the end of the year and we met that goal in less than six months,” said Don McMahan, Vice President Sales, Regional Business General Manager, US&C Region, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, Document Imaging, Eastman Kodak Company. “New resellers have told us they’ve joined because of the strength of the Kodak brand for innovative, top notch products and because our new channel initiative demonstrates Kodak’s commitment to their success.”

The channel initiative includes opportunities to enhance profit margins, a comprehensive training program, and a streamlined process that makes it easier for resellers to become a KDSR.  The KDSR channel program focuses on providing resellers with personal attention from Kodak’s document imaging specialists.  McMahan added that Kodak’s channel initiative is already delivering success with solid sales growth year over year in all categories.  

“We’ve put together a knowledgeable team that has more than 100 years of combined channel and industry experience coupled with a wide diversity of focus.  We have people on our team who specialize in capture software, distribution, competitive hardware sales, value added reseller sales, and vertical markets such as healthcare within our new independent software vendor program.  These industry veterans are eager to participate in sales calls and provide other valuable support for our new resellers,” said Todd LeVeque, Director of National Sales for Distributed Capture, United States and Canada Region, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group.  “In addition, we have designed an Authorized Service Provider service training program for our new resellers, and we’re providing a generous demo and evaluation program that allows resellers to demonstrate Kodak’s document imaging scanners features and performance with on site, hands on user trials.”
