Purchases Two KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 Plus Digital Production Color Presses
CHICAGO, September 13 – Attracted by the ability to print on larger media and a wider range of substrates, Corporate Press, Inc., today purchased two KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 plus digital production color presses at the Print 05 exhibition.
Corporate Press will use the new presses to expand its digital print production capabilities by tapping into the additional size and variety of substrates that can be produced with the new presses. Combining both offset and digital printing, Corporate Press serves a wide range of client requirements, including short run color jobs with quick turnarounds, variable data printing and long run collateral.
“Kodak helped us to grow our business with digital printing several years ago and we’ve used it to complement our offset capabilities to create value-added services for our customers,” said Michael A. Marcian, president, Corporate Press, Inc. “The new NEXPRESS 2100 plus press will allow us to continue to be a core marketing partner to our customers.”
A user of the NEXPRESS 2100 press since serving as a beta customer in 2000, the Landover, Md. printer specializes in direct mail pieces, corporate newsletters and eCorporate printing solutions. The printer currently uses two NEXPRESS 2100 presses and four KODAK DIGIMASTER digital production systems for black and white printing.
The extended paper-size capabilities of the NEXPRESS 2100 plus allow customers to print larger applications, such as oversized book covers, given a 13 percent increase in substrate size, as well as smaller-sized applications. The maximum sheet size of 356 x 520 mm (14 x 20.5 in.) covers all major standard formats including the 35 x 50 cm offset format class, as well as legal and B3.
In addition, a wider range of substrate weights and thicknesses – including coated or uncoated paper, textured stocks, labels, synthetics and transparencies – enable new applications such as point of purchase signage, packaging, and direct mail pieces requiring less postage. Paper weights range from 60 g/m2 up to 350 g/m2 (16# bond up to 130# cover) up to a .4 mm thickness.
